We are fortunate to receive most of our trust and estate litigation and family law cases through referrals from attorneys and other professionals. We know that the referral of a client to another professional can reflect either well or poorly on the referrer, and we strive to make every colleague who refers a client to us proud. When we refer a client out, we look for the best fit and the most capable professional for the job.

We are happy to work with the professional who refers to us, sometimes co-representing the client with another attorney. In addition, we refer back to that professional any new work that arises for the client within the originating professional’s purview. For example, estate planners are a large source of our trust and estate litigation cases. But when a beneficiary finally receives his or her distribution and needs an estate plan of his or her own, we immediately suggest that the client consult their estate planner.

Professionals may rest assured that making a referral to a Certified Specialist who carries adequate professional liability insurance will insulate them from a claim of negligent referral.
